Time Machine (A step to the past)

Alright. Seriously, if I had a time machine! (~˘▽˘)~  I'd go time travel everywhere, take a good look of Manila and the people (dead people waaa) but I wouldnt change anything. (OMG. Wars, canons, and all waaa!) I just imagine that it'll be like watching a 3d flashback film (or even 5D or 11) Tralalalalaaa (¬˛ ¬ ") ʃ (っ˘з˘)っ

Intramuros, Manila. One of my favorite kind of place in the country! I had a surprise visit there one early morning this June. Unplanned, yes! ~(˘▽˘~)

It was around 8am when me and my good colleague made our way there. We took a pedicab, asked the driver to bring us to Fort Bonifacio. The driver was confused though. I wondered why. ┐(˘˘,)┌

Palacio El Gobernador
Taking snaps when riding the pedicab. This antique-looking building says it's the Palace of the Governor

Lovely, this one is located just in front of ..

Yaey! Here we are now! Yes! It's not Fort Bonifacio, hahah! It's Fort Santiago! That explains the manong's confusion. ┒ (^˛^)┎ (┎','┒)  LOL.

On my first time here like four years ago, the entrance fee was like 15 pesos. Guess what. Five years later, it's 25 pesos.  Nah! It's 75 pesos for non-students. What a raise!  (⊙▂⊙)

ticket!

Now, let's go in! (っ˘з˘)っ

An ancient building located at right side upon entrance

We took a peek from one of the  wooden-grilled windows and checked what's inside. ƪ(‾O‾")ʃ  It's empty though. (ˇ_ˇ'!l)   As from what I read, it was once an imbakan of stuffs to be shipped via Pasig river.  ┒('o'┒) Scanned from the ceilings to the bricked floors for moments as I keep on wondering how were the operations look back then. The scenario. Are the workers Filipinos? Spaniards? I want to go in! (っ˘з˘)っ

that's a tunnel
I wonder why was it locked. I saw snapshots from other travelers that managed to pass through. Maybe because it was too early when we went there? Dunno. ┐(˘˘,)┌

At one of the tourist vehicles. Yes? Maam? Sir?

Holding the Fort Santiago flyer they gave that contains some historical information, map and photos of the place. (~˘▽˘)~

 Fort Santiago

What a sight. (⊙▂⊙) I'm so speechless. I always love this arko sa personal. (っ˘з˘)っ Imagine (not Kelly standing there) a number of soldiers and our ninunos passing in and out this big ark! Soldiers running holding their weapons, etc.  (¯―¯٥) The carvings as you see, reminds me of foreign, British (particulary) castles. (I remember Narnia movies though.) ┒ (^˛^)┎

Upon entering, this is the sight from the right side. Those are lolo Jose Rizal's mark of last footsteps and a sight of a theater ruin

Rizal Shrine
This one is from the left. New pavements, new paint, the bermuda grass, the flags and all. Not sure if I prefer that or I like it more preserved. Who knows, what it may look before. Anyhow, the Intramuros administration made a good work on re-making the place. (~˘▽˘)~ ~(˘▽˘~) You see the guardia civil over there? Did they dress like that too decades ago? ┐(˘˘,)┌

My heart skipped bits when I saw this. Look!  It's a teatro!!!  (⊙▂⊙) (⊙▂⊙) (⊙▂⊙) (っ˘з˘)っ
No information were given though. What year was it built, what happened, and maybe they ought to tell what was the use and if plays were performed!!! (`⌒´メ) (Frustrated stage director wild dreamer here! \(´▽`)/ )

the interiors of the theater ruins
This is probably where the audience is. ƪ(‾ε‾“)ʃ  Wait, what was to watch here anyways? Hmmmm.

Look! I had a VIP Backstage pass!

The face goes serious as she thinks deeply, . (︶︹︶)  wondering how does it look like before it came to ruins. Tralalalala (~˘▽˘)~ ~(˘▽˘~)
The strong stone built was really fascinating! (╥﹏╥)

Lolo Jose on his prison cell

Hi lolo Jose! This figure is as same as his actual height.
This cell was attached to the left hand part of the Rajah Sulayman Theater ruins. I believe the pavements and bricks were untouched. (┎','┒)

A passage to the Pasig River in 1762

The Dungeons. They used to be vaults, then later converted to prison cells and storerooms in 171n. I want to go in! Kidding.

I call this the stone house. Didnt go in though. It was closed (¯―¯٥) I wonder what's inside! ┒('o'┒)

The dungeons/tunnels

First timer here!

Wondered for a bit why there was another 10 peso fee for this but much to my amazement, it's worth more!

Chinas owned by the Rizal family
We were allowed to take photos but were requested to remove the flash. Why!!!!!!!? Will the (っ˘з˘)っ (っ˘з˘)っ (っ˘з˘)っ get disturbed? Kiddin.

Lolo Jose's novels's first published issues. At first, I thought they were the original ones. You know, the ones lolo Jose wrote on. Teeheeh (~˘▽˘)~

lolo Jose's

Rizal family's books

Rizal family's furniture
Rocking chairs, a lil bed, a basin, cabinets, a family dining table, mirror closet. Astig! \(´▽`)/\(´▽`)/\(´▽`)/

Yes. The feels. (~‾▿‾)~(~‾▿‾)~ I actually got close and took a good look on everything there. I didnt take a lot of snaps though because I dont feel like too. Literally. In addition to the dim ambiance and antique-y smell, we were the only visitors that time. Now you know. (~‾▿‾)~(~‾▿‾)~ (~‾▿‾)~ We were like (⊙▂⊙)(⊙▂⊙).

more of lolo Jose's memorabilia

Huwaaat! It's lolo Jose's medical/surgical instruments. I cant beleb des. So cool!

Why does is seem to me, that he was a dentist? ┐(˘˘,)┌

Rizal Shrine snap
Hey lolo Manuel!
Nope. This isnt a figure. This is a real lady, and a horse. Teehee!

The chariots!
Yep! To add to the Spanish times feels, horsey-horsey rides are available with lil Filipino manong drivers dressed in what I call Katipunan or Andres Bonifacio costumes - white longsleeve tops with neck red scarves ƪ(»ˇ⌣ˇ«)ʃ

aaaand ... that ends our lil morning stroll  :) So long, Fort Santiago!

History is here. Intramuros, Manila

Anything history, it interests me. My personality goes like going to the bottom of things. I guess that explains it. Ilocos is next! Till then! Happy time travel! (~˘▽˘)~ ~(˘▽˘~)

We used our Cherry Mobile Flare 2X  8MP camera for the shoot.
Credits to Kelly for some of the shoots.
