How to make: Fruity Overnight Oats meal

©️Tep Fai 2020

I remember looking for a healthy recipe good for breakfast 2 years ago. Saying "healthy dish" doesnt always mean it has to be mapait or dahons, ampalaya, etc. Looking at the photos of "overnight oats" from the internet, here is what I came up with for the first time hinulaan natin kung paano to gawin.

Ingredients:

Quaker Instant Oats Banana or Milk flavor, pwede both, mixed

Nestle Greek Yogurt (my preferred brand, but you may use your fave flavored yogurt)

Fruits sliced thin (kiwi & strawberries & bananas preferably)

Granola (tis is optional, naisip ko lang to add more sweetness and flavor.)

Steps:

1. Make instant oatmeal but with less water. Make it thicker/drier than your ordinary breakfast way.
2. Line your container with the oatmeal about 2cm thicker or whatever your prefer.

3. Spread the greek yogurt - you should wanna make it thicker than the oats.
*You may add small amounts of Chia seeds too, konti lang or magdry nang super

4. Add the granola on the top of your thick yogurt.

5. Top with the fruits by lining the same kind alternately. (See sample photo.)

6. Sprinkle with the excess granola.

7. Refrigerate overnight or for about 6 hours.

Tadah! There you go.
Good for breakfast or dessert. ❤
Have a healthy heart, bloGGers!

Day x of quarantine. Yes that is what everybody is saying. I didnt lost count. I wasnt actually counting. Isnt this the first time when all people are mandated not to go out in order to live. It looks simple as it is but as more days pass, I feel like, for real, in order to live, we have to stay home.

I recently bought a new bag. I took hours to carefully pick the one where I can hide my phone while walking on the streets with it, a backpack worn how it should be worn - sa likod. I usually take my time in Watsons reading every product and choosing what my skin and hair needs. I schedule a half day on a weekend to spend on my parlor to have my hair done. I make sure I dont use the same shampoo in a month so my hair wouldnt get used to it and stop being smooth. Im addicted to hair conditioners. I relieve my stress sometimes on picking earring varieties from online shops before I sleep. I plan my outfit like on a monthly basis. No two same outfits within 2 weeks, make that three. I, I recently got addicted to close sandals. Im about to hoard another three pairs before all of this happened. Im like, contemplating, which should I use for weekend strolls, for church, for daily use in the office. Which will look minimal? Which will look classy? I need shoes!!! I just hoarded Etude House Eyebrow Pen online since all EH stores are closing down in PH and EH is my only buddy. I felt lucky that I didnt need to spend more on makeup and perfume since theres a lot from pasalubong so next, pano natin gagamitin at uubusin lahat to? There are a lot of recently opened milk tea shops near. I placed a number of desgner casings for my phone in my cart since it is 1 year already. Like it is that important.

Now all these things makes no sense at the moment. We only struggle to wait and survive. Poor or rich people, everybody seems scared. We realized what only matters in this world. Health. Security. Salvation. To Live. Life itself.

And of course, being with people important us, those we want to keep. in this situation.

Right now, what is important to do is to hope, WIth that hope, we pray, We pray to the only One now who has the power to end this life thief.

Me, some of the things Im most thankful for is the gift of TIME and REST, especially for our parents.

And yes, peak at the sky! It is crystal clear. Mother Earth is healing somehow. I hope we all too.

You have your time now. I hope you use it on what matters!

Keep safe, bloGGers!

How to make: Home Sardines Pasta

©️Tep Fai 2020

Okay, calling it simply, Sardines Pasta instead of Sardines or Tuyo Garlic Basil Fettuccine in Olive Oil. Char. So para maiba naman than eating your stocked delata with rice, here is a quick and not complicated recipe for you!

For the ingredients, so, I dont actually measure ingredients religiously. I measure them according to taste preference. You can too. But here is what I suggest close enough to what I make

Ingredients :

1/4 Noodles (Fettuccine is the best choice, doesnt absorb oil much, but our mama's stock ng pasta will do :)
1 can sardines in oil, say Spanish style/ Gourmet Tuyo
2 cloves garlic, chopped to bits
Butter (enough to go with the garlic and fish)
Olive oil (preferable Extra Virgin)
Dried Basil
Peanuts, durog
Parmesan cheese

Steps:

1.Cook the pasta referring to how many minutes the packaging says. Usually it's 10-15 mins, but let me tell you this, depende sa thickness ng kaldero. 😁 Drain and set aside.

2. For the sauce, you know the drill - heat the pan, put in the butter, add the garlic, mix until a bit brown and

3. Put in the fish - crush to small pieces while mixing until cooked. This is the time I put in the olive oil too, tantsa mo nalang according sa dami ng pasta.

4. Add salt and the dried basil to your taste preference.

5. Add the drained noodles and mix.

6. Top with parmesan cheese and durog na peanuts!

Tada! If you want to make it spicy, the Tuyo/Sardines flavor is the key!
